Of 2nd Hand Gen-Sets & 2nd Class Fixed-Deposits

While our fellow Malaysians in Peninsular Malaysia are enjoying the luxury of un-interrupted power, WE Sabahans, on the other hand, continue to be marginalized as second class citizens and condemned to living in darkness. Forty-seven ( 47) years after the formation of Malaysia, Sabah still needs to "BEG" for development, which should be rightfully and duly provided. Foreign Investors as well as tourists are devastated that a state rich in natural resources, Petroleum, Timber and Palm Oil among other things is the poorest state in Malaysia.

The latest fiasco in Sabah is the discovery of second-hand generator sets, installed and commissioned by Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB). Hundreds of millions are claimed to have been spent by the Federal Government. Ironically, after all the hoo-ha, Sabah gets 2nd hand sets. What an insult! Yet, imagine, the BN goons want Sabah to be their ever-dependable “fixed-deposit”. More insult!

Ordinary Sabahans are forced to swallow all the excuses, hoodwinks and bull-shit. It was a big surprise that the State Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, Datuk Dr.Yee Moh Chai came out to ask the Managing Director of SESB, Baharin Din, to tender his resignation for failing to address the power woes in the state. It's rather amusing that Yee Moh Chai has unfurled his imaginary wings by portraying himself as an angel. Nevertheless, well done Dr. Yee. I suggest that if action is not taken against Baharin, the Minister resign his job to show he is sincere and means business.

To add insult to injury, Federal Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Peter Chin has vowed to resign by December 2010 if he fails to reduce Sabah's System Average Interruption Duration Index(Saidi) from 2,780 minutes per subscriber to 700 minutes per subscriber. This kind of political rhetoric - resignations or sabbatical leave are stone-age tactics. All these might well be a political ploy in forcing a coal-fired power plant down the throats of Sabahans.

And what stupidity .... with all the latest technology available and all the big and bold talk about "PRODUKTIVITI" , "MALAYSIA BOLEH" & "1MALAYSIA", …… the entire Federal and State Government has miserably failed Sabahans. Maybe someone forgot to inform these politicians that this is the 21st Century. Stop fooling the rakyat. A leader bears the responsibility of earning the respect of the people, not forcefully demanding it.

Looks like our political leaders’ wish is to become ‘emperors’.

In the process of being elected to run the government, we let our leaders gain control of the state’s ideological apparatuses and we let them own the Fourth Estate (the media). And that makes it easy for them to feed us with political propaganda and bull-shit daily. We let these ‘emperors’ portray themselves as bigger than life which is mere fallacy.

We have allowed our leaders to become autocrats and even kleptocrats.

But 47 years is a long time, too long a time. We cannot allow the situation to continue … NO, We cannot allow this mafiosos to continue to spill verbal diarrhea and pillage the nation.

The time has come and it is NOW - to make that inevitable change. The future generation's very existence depends very much on what you and I decide today.

Sabahans: It is time to speak up. The truth is undeniable, it is so evident.

  1. The chances of the Federal Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Peter Chin to resign by the end of this year is "zero". He would do anything to keep the figure slightly under 700 minutes, for 6 months or the most a year may be. Than he will use this to brag that he did it. But the question is what happened the year after? The question is consistency in delivery the power to the Rakyat.

How do we comprehend that we are getting a 2nd gen-set? Anything else is all second hand for Sabah.

    1) Delivery system - 2nd hand
    2) Immigration - 2nd hand(PTI being first)
    3) KDM - dan lain-lian, 4th hand
    4) School -- 2nd hand
    5) Electricity - 2nd hand
    6) Coal plant - by force. All over the world are closing down due to health and environmental issues but Sabah with second hand mentality leaders ...boleh bah kalau kau.

This list will be on and on and on, until change prevails. We will reinstate the rakyat, from the rakyat, by the rakyat, for the rakyat.

Sabah boleh bah kalau kau!!!! 2nd hand, 3rd hand...? mana mana boleh ba.

  2. I posted an article from the DE about the 2nd hand gen sets fiasco and the BN fixed deposit in you last write-up.
Yes what you have written above has hit the right spot and yes Ronnie, Sabahans should demand what is needed today after 45 years of shit. All those promises given to our Sabah leaders before Sabah join the federation.
You are right when you said that those leaders are trying to forced coal-powered plant to be built in Sabah, fine and good but what about the toxic waste from the plant, because with the rampant corruption in the country I do not think the operators will adhere to the guidelines on its disposal.
Even the most advance countries in the world like the US, there were many cases of leakages of coal byproduct from their coal fired power plants into the rivers and streams which forced the state authorities to evacuate residents of certain affected towns. What more in Sabah with all the half-past six engineers, I dread to think of it.
Sabahans will have to see whether the SESB boss will be asked to resign or transferred out of Sabah after all this huh hah by their own kind.

  12. After 45 years in the Federation, it appears that Sabahans had been taken for granted by the Federal BN leaders. It was because the Sabah leaders are docile and accomodating, the Federal BN leaders had taken advantage of the situation.

Sabah leaders like Pairin, Dompok etc had been "yes-men" all the while and becuse of this the politics in Sabah is now being determined by the illegal migrants who were given My-card in order that they can vote for BN. Why didn't Pairin, Dompok, Kurup etc demand urgent action. Yes, the Federal leaders will say we are setting up action committees to pull wool over your eyes.

At the same time, the poor and displaced Sabahns are not given the aid but had been channeled to illegal migrants' children. The good hospital are being patronised by these illegal migrants whilst the poor Sabahans in the interior had to accept second class hospital Klinik Desa.

  14. As a Sabahan I am insulted and embarrass that our people in Sabah are still suffering but still "kow-tow" to people like...Musa Aman,Pairin,Dumpork,Kurap,VK.Liew.In the opposition we are being disillusioned that people like Yong Teck Lee,Jeffery Kitingan,Christina Liew,Ansari Abdullah are to become saviors for the people of Sabah.Everyone of these bas***ds are crooks with hidden agendas.

Where were all these idiots when they had the opportunity to change the faith of the people...busy making money for themselves. The current bunch of leaders administrating the Sabah govt must be thrown out and fed to the crocodiles.

I fully agree and support what Ronnie is doing, bringing out and championing new leaders from the younger generation.I will surely vote for Ronnie as MP......A NEW LEADER IN MODERN TIMES.

  16. Why is Sabah in such condition where we need to beg for development fund from federal inspite of Sabah being the "fixed deposit " for the BN to remain in power?

Over the 47 years, corrupt leaders from Usno ,Berjaya,PBS and now Umno have rob and rape the state natural resources for their own benefit.

What did we the sabahan dO??? Nothing,we just accepted it as a way of our life and just turn our eyes from these problems.

We continue to allow these corrupt politicians to do what they are doing for the past 47 years to the extend that they take we, the rakyat as fools who believe in their blatant lies.

Well, we deserve what we get because years after years we gave out vote to BN and invited that monster ,umno into our land and since then we have lost birthright.

How often we have put the blame on the federal leaders but the actual fact is our own sabah leaders have sold us out continuously over the past 47 years.

That's why we are now the poorest state in Malaysia. Take a look at Sarawak and do we envy them?????

  17. The whole bloody 59 state assemblyman and 24 MP's of UMNO/BN Sabah should resign en-bloc,period.I will spite at anyone of these blood suckers whenever I see them on the streets. They have robbed us Sabahans of our rights and are only interested in enriching themselves.

Aiyo....my fellow Sabahans let us kick these scumbags out in the next elections. The state deserve a better and more caring govt for the people.I curse UMNO/BN Sabah and their ring leader Musa Aman and Najib Tun Razak, may they rot in hell for all eternity.

  18. If Sabahans continue to be become 'safe-deposit' for the UMNO/BN Govt. you all NOT only will be getting 2nd Hand Gen-sets, you all will be burning candles for you dinner and supper(i.e. if you poor people can afford it. So, don't complain, 'you reap what you sow'.Hope all Sabahans will take note of in the next coming GE 13. Your own Ministers have 'screwed' you all up by being 'yes man' to BN.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What is this man, about SESB, I still remember during the Berjaya time when the chairman of the then SEB at that time had the same shit going on, that fellow was even involved in a rape case but was swept under the carpet. It is just the same shit of second hand or reconditioned gen sets fiasco. Today I see history repeats itself. The only thing is that SEB is now SESB under Federal. The crooked ex-chairman is still around and have not kick the bucket yet despite all the sins he has committed during his dictortaril tenure as the chairman of the SEB. Susahlah Sabahans!!! semua pun big crocodiles, same old same old!!!

  20. I agree with all you have said - I am from Sarawak, where we have similar problems.

BUT, in blog articles such as this, we are just preaching to the converted. This will not, in or by itself, get people to vote in an opposition government.

Change will only occur when such information and messages can reach the poorer people living in the interior. It is important that all those who detest what the BN is doing make a determind effort to visit the interior kampungs and longhouses, tell the people there what is REALLY happening in Malaysia!
And get their support in dislodging these crooks.

    ReplyDelete
  21. To the people of Sabah, and the rest of Malaysia. This is what you get when you vote the people to lead you in your state. As much as I sympathize with you, all I can say is "you reap what you sow" and in this case, you vote in people who are all ready to gut you when you are not looking.

What can you do? Wait for the next General Election and vote for a color-blind political party that practices proper governance and transparency. To the individuals, go get yourself registered to vote for the next election. You have no bitching rights until you have voted.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Dear Ronnie,
You people must all unite strongly then only you can kick out the corrupt govt. You have to work very hard because you are nearly outnumbered by the illegals who are being secretly registered as citizens. If you don't kick them out now your chance may never come again because later on you might become the minority. I am very angry at what is happening but can only watch and pray.

Fortunately, our beloved blogger Ronnie is on his toes and bringing accurate information to the rakyat.Keep up the good work brother Ronnie...as Justice Pao said in his comment, you are undeniably MP material and a righteous leader for the rakyat.LAWAN TETAP LAWAN..SALAM PERJUANGAN.

  26. Sabahan are cursed citizen of Malaysia. Our population has been polluted during the USNO, Berjaya and PBS era.For every 3 Sabahan, 1 would be a new citizen (his or hers MYKad is being issued without much conditions attached .. probably due to political reason .. and out of 10 of this new citizen, 10 are muslims .. U guess why?)

Now there is no turning back ... 33% of Sabahan become the Fixed Deposit votes to all the State Assembly or Parliamentary seats ...

No matter how vocal the leaders of the Opposition to highlight all the injustices and unfair policies or practices, can they get at least 51% of the Sabahan to vote againts all the bad guys and bad policies/practices ?

The title of this article should sound like this.. 1st Class Fixed Deposit was given a 2nd Hand Gen-Sets by the Premium Class Government for Stupid Citizen known as Sabahan and they they will still vote for the Premium Class Government again and again ...again and again ...

What is our hope ? Are we really a cursed citizen ?

    Confused and disturbed Sabahan ...

  28. Please do recall your history. Before we got into BN, Sabah is an opposition state. It was Anwar Ibrahim himself who came over to Sabah and get all the PBS members to jump ship over to BN. And then bring in all the illegal immigrants. Who are the ones voting them all this while, you get the idea. When Sabahans and a scarce few other states, voted the opposition, the rest of the states in Malaysia voted BN. Now you turn around and blame it all on us?

  45. The mismanagement of Sabah electricity in the past has made us paid the price. Poor planning, bad management and maybe abuse of fund was happen back then, resulting constant black out today. to make matters worst, politician, either government or oppositon, has make this 'power issues' as their tools to portray themselves as a person who fight for the people, but inside, they have a different agenda.

    ReplyDelete
  46. FYI

Do you think the opposition will be able to persuade or convince the "big Brother "in K.L to solve the issue? Imagine for being the "fixed depoisit" for them yet we do not get what we want .you think they care about the opposition party if they are incharged ?.If the BN govt can not do and I am doubtful the oppositon can solve this issue easily.
Who and whom vote for them ?? Lets continue and support BN and give them time to solve the issue.

Kota Kinabalu: The Forestry Department was prevented by successive governments in the 1980s and 1990s from discharging its duties, resulting in the plunder of resources in the Ulu Kalumpang Forest Reserve.

Director, Datuk Sam Mannan in a statement, Tuesday, said there was no political will to address the problem and the Department was left impotent.

"Over the years, various personalities, for reasons only known to themselves, promoted the demands of the plunderers to excise a big portion of Ulu Kalumpang as an endowment - i.e. reward for their illegal activities as some may interpret it.

You may not be one of those who partake in putting the blame on the Sabahans, but take a good look up there, West Malaysian have been placing the blame at us for keep voting BN. Throwing all sort of insults our way. How can we unite if this continues? You cannot even trust us to do the right thing next GE, addressing us as if we're a bunch of morons. How is this going to close the distance between East and West?

Besides, what's more insulting is that We Sabahans have been taking all the blame for voting BN. While you guys over there have your fair share of voting them.

We know what to do on the next GE, if you couldn't trust us to do what is needed. Then all this talk about unity is naught.

English vital for future economic survival:Chief sec
    By SIRA HABIBU

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians, including civil servants, must be proficient in English to seize opportunities for future economic survival, said chief secretary to the government Tan Sri Sidek Hassan.

Mastering the language was vital because China, an emerging economic power, was predicted to be the world’s number one English speaking country within 10 years, he said.

“As English will remain the global lingua franca for centuries to come, we must emphasise proficiency for communication, negotiation and articulation purposes.

“For example, proficiency in English is vital when negotiating FTA (Free Trade Agreement),’’ he said.

Sidek said this after presenting a keynote address at the 11th National Human Resources Summit at a hotel in Bandar Sunway Thursday.

He also stressed that mastering English would not make a person less patriotic

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Police say they have made an arrest in the case of a racial comment being made over the public-address system at a Walmart store in southern New Jersey.

The Washington Township Police Department said on its Web site early Saturday that an arrest has been made in a "bias incident" at the retail store. The posting says the police and Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office will announce the arrest at a midday news conference.

Washington Township Police declined to comment early Saturday.

A male voice came over the Walmart public address system Sunday evening and calmly announced: "Attention, Walmart customers: All black people, leave the store now." The announcement provoked an immediate apology from the store manager.

Officials for Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc., said the announcement was "unacceptable."

Btw, I don't agree with using 2nd hand gen-sets as if we are really 2nd class and deserves it. Money will be waste doing maintenance on the sets. Might as well buy brand new ones. ;)

    -- BERNAMA

Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh will fight for our rights so stop blame each other and just wait and let him solve this matter.
hopefully, something like this will not happen again..
congratulation and we should be proud for him..
