Stop being a devil in disguised

HERBERT Timbon Lagadan, the State Assemblyman for Kadamaian is an interesting character. This is because before joining politics, he was a pastor. According to his bio-data posted on his Website, he possesses a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Theology ( London ).

In Malaysia , there are probably only two pastors who had joined politics over the years. Herbert is one of them. The other one is Pastor Jeffrey Kumin of Sabah DAP, who joined the party just before the last general election and subsequently became its Inanam Division Chief.

Pastor Jeffrey once described his venture into the politics as answering the God’s calling to better serve Him and his children. As for Herbert, while i’m not sure what it was, I’m willing to give him the benefits of doubt that he too still and constantly has God in his mind.

Of late, Herbert who is a Vice President of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) was again in the limelight when he extended his invitation on behalf of his party to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Vice President, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan to rejoin PBS.

To many, and as rightly pointed out by Dr Jeffrey in his response recently, Herbert’s gesture was merely a move aimed to cause a rift and instability in PKR Sabah. Dr Jeffrey even reciprocated Herbert’s invitation by counter inviting the entire PBS including his own brother, Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Pairin Kitingan to join him in his struggle for the people of Sabah .

I think Herbert and the entire PBS should seriously consider Dr Jeffrey’s counter offer if they sincerely have the people’s interest in their mind still.

As a former Pastor with a degree in Theology, Herbert should have the wisdom to differentiate between what is right and wrong, and what is good and bad for the people. Most importantly, he should be able to see the suffering of the people under the present regime.

Herbert and the entire PBS should conduct a serious soul searching to examine why the gap between the rich and the poor in this country is getting bigger, and why Sabah, despite its abundance of natural resources has gone from being the richest state in the country once, to the poorest state now.

When PBS rejoined Barisan Nasional (BN) in 2002, its leaders especially its deputy president, Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili had claimed that once PBS returned to Barisan, the illegal immigrant problem would be solved.

But its former leader cum anti-illegal immigrant activist Dr Chong Eng Leong last year revealed that Dr Maximus had been advising Pairin against PBS sending in memorandums to various groups as it was tantamount to stabbing Barisan in the back again. Disappointed with PBS’s deviation from its original course, Dr Chong later ditched the party and joined PKR Sabah.

Herbert should also realize that one of the perennial issues affecting the people of Sabah is the native land issue which PBS failed to address even when it was in power for nine years. Now, the natives of Sabah are fast becoming the landless people which will eventually reduce them to squatters in their own land.

And as the State Assistant Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister, Herbert should also realize that despite the current Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s sounds good slogan of “1Malaysia. People First. Performance Now.” and paying the same for the income tax, the people of Sabah are still paying a higher price for a majority of goods and services in the state, as compare to their West Malaysian counterparts. In the meantime, the per capita earnings of Sabahans are still the lowest in the country.

The number and magnitude of scandals under the BN rule were simply mind-boggling. They included the Mongolian model, Altantuya’s murder, deaths in custody which include A Kugan and Teoh Beng Hock, the manner the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) persecute the opposition leaders but chose to look the other way when it involves politicians of the ruling coalition like the former MB for Selangor, the Chief Ministers of Sabah and Sarawak, the president of MCA and the Chairman of the BN Backbenchers Club in the ongoing PKFZ scandal.

If despite all these glaring instances Herbert still consider BN a noble and credible political party to be associated with, then I would like to dedicate this evergreen oldies of the late Elvis (click and listen to the song) “Devil in Disguise” (see lyrics attached below) to him, plus this quote from the holly Bible – “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand.” – Matthew 4:77”.

I would also like to share with you an inspiring video clip sent to me by an avid reader of this blog. If Herbert or any of the PBS, UMNO, UPKO, PBRS, LDP, MCA, GERAKAN, and the other BN component parties leader happen to watch this video clip, I sincerely hope they too would be inspired to make a change.

Devil in Disguise

You look like an angel
Walk like an angel
Talk like an angel
But I got wise
You're the devil in disguise
Oh yes you are
The devil in disguise

You fooled me with your kisses
You cheated and you schemed
Heaven knows how you lied to me
You're not the way you seemed

You look like an angel
Walk like an angel
Talk like an angel
But I got wise

You're the devil in disguise
Oh yes you are
The devil in disguise

I thought that I was in heaven
But I was sure surprised
Heaven help me, I didn't see
The devil in your eyes

You look like an angel
Walk like an angel
Talk like an angel

But I got wise
You're the devil in disguise
Oh yes you are
The devil in disguise

  1. Again and again Saudara Ronnie, you amazed all of us.This is yet another serious and entertaining post.

PBS has completely failed the KDM's,they lied to Sabahans on the illegal immigrants issues and they have sold their souls to UMNO.

Herbert Stooge,PBS has played you well.Video clip on Nizar is truly inspiring. If UMNO/BN in Sabah is not inspired by the video clip and leave,we might as well send them to the ZOO.

  2. Maximus is also a Pastor with the Borneo Evangelical Mission.

Maximus is another devil in Disguise.

  3. I couldn't agree with you more, that Herbert is a devil in disguise, but he's not the only one around. The KDM's of Sabah are so blind they just can't differentiate between these devils and the true fighters for them.

As long ada singarung semua boleh.I thank god and pray that our topinai Ronnie will wake up the KDM's.Malu saya sebagai KDM.PBS has lost all credibility in representing the KDM's,to them they don't bother we exist anymore.

  4. Is he really a Pastor? Who knows maybe he bought his Degree. Even as far back in 1980, there are some colleges in UK selling degrees. There is one so called university in Fanborough, England which is actually a degree mill.
If indeed he is a pastor, I think he should not be mixing with all these crooks and devil worshippers, but of maybe he is one of them too.

  5. Ronnie, you're damn good lah for exposing a former pastor who is actually a 'devil in disguise'.

Just look at his bald headed photo, just short of two horns, he'll look exactly like one.If he's not one, then he must had been possessed by the BN devils.

And now only i know that even Maximus was a pastor before. I believe he too must have been possessed by the BN devils if he's not one in disguise from the begining.

I now understand why our country is fast becoming a pariah nation, as it is being run by the devils.

But the best part is, in this lunar month of the 'hungry ghost' celebration, the BN devils have started fighting among themselves, starting with those in MIC and MCA.

And even more interesting was the Devil Boss said he will not intervene unless he was invited to do so. Hahaha, this Devil Boss has a good sense of humor indeed.

To the BN devils, i wish you all a "Happy Hungry Ghost" celebration. Auuuuuuuuuuh!

I really don't understand with the Sabah politics..*sigh*

I hope the leaders would do something about issues that still have been on going for such a long time.

  9. I sometimes sing this song (Devil In Disguise) when requested by acquaintences and I will definitely be singing it as my theme song to irk those around me who are those "devils in disguise" and their minions in this current blatantly obvious corrupted govt.

Well written and well put Bro!

  10. Pastor ? he is a human being too. we all make mistakes because we are not God. However, he may have his ways of uniting the people of Sabah esp.the Kadazan Dusun or the Bumiputra. As we all know things are difficult to get done when you are in the opposition party.???
Perhaps it is his way of solving many issues if Jeffery and him get together. Yet to find out and see?? why so much fuss ??

Can anyone promise a better place if BN does not rule ??!! it is the changes of the people we want ??!!

Guess the most important thing to do is focus on serving the people irrespective of what /which party you are in. right?

Do not be so judgmental lah. May God be with you always.

  12. FM, which planet did you come from? Are you that ignorant or still in fairyland?Herbert Timbon and PBS have failed the KDM's..period.

What change of the people are you referring to?UMNO/BN has been in power for the last 52 years,PBS 9 years in Sabah, left BN and returned back crawling since 2002.The people have been hoodwink far too long,i/c problem not solved, land from KDM's robbed, constant unresolved power supply not address, price of goods going up,business economy deteriorating, the poor are getting poorer and the rich getting richer.

Get a grip and understand the issues at hand, then come back and comment. It's upsetting to hear that you're so ignorant.

  14. Goodness gracious...for those of you taking a swipe at the only individual that dare to take the Malaysian Government to task on the "ALLAH" issue early this year, you have a very short memory.

I may not know Ronnie at all,but when Christian politicians were busy with their own money making agenda, this man stood up and question the Federal Government,in case you people haven read the newspaper. His daring and courageous stand in taking Bernard Dompok,Pairin Kitingan,Joseph Kurup,VK Liew to task in their silence for not standing up for the Christian Community in this blog and the newspapers, speaks highly of his passion for Christians.

As a nobody,he was prepared to sacrifice his life and his family, knowing pretty well the circumstances ahead of him.I wouldn't be the least surprise,if he was question by the authorities.

He has certainly earned the reputation as one of the many Christian ICONS in Sabah and Malaysia.Check you facts and dig deep into your conscience, before you throw stones at the very man who stood up and sacrifice for the Christians.

Keep going Ronnie,God has been with you and will continue to be with you.Devils come in many disguises,May the good lord bless you and continue giving you the wisdom and strength.

    Devoted Christian.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well said devoted christian the christian community will certainly agree with you. This is not about religion per say...the issue at hand is understanding the sufferings of the people and not doing anything about it.

While I would agree, that no man is perfect, but Herbert made a solemn promised to his constitutes during the last election, promising to uplift the living standards of the people in Kadamaian and as the Assistant Minister in the Sabah Cabinet, you are obliged to serve the people of Sabah, yet this is still unseen.

There is nothing religious here,YB Nik Aziz being an Islamic scholar,Politician and Menteri Besar of Kelantan surely knows the difference. He's been attack on numerous occasions within his party and UMNO/BN,yet he remain steadfast and delivered his promises to the people of Kelantan.Has Herbert or PBS done like wise?As a matter of fact even YAB Nik Aziz came out and supported Ronnie in the "Allah" campaign.

My advice to those shoe polishers of Herbert,PBS or any of the BN parties, ponder over the suggestion from Ronnie in his post, you may have some credibility left by leaving BN.

this is the RESULT of RACE-BASED POLITICS !!!
get rid of those race-based political parties from our country.

In the past, all sabahans either in USNO or against, BERJAYA supporters or opposition, support PBS or support BERJAYA regardless you are Kadazan, Bajau, Murut, Chinese.....
    We are united as Sabahans.
Now we have UNMO generally for muslim, PBS for Kadazan, SAPP/MCA for chinese & so on.

Is this politic or just a personal grudge just because this bald headed guy is inviting the PHD from Havard guy to rejoin BN. Is it an insult that an ITM farmer inviting a Havard graduate to rejoin BN? Aiseh man in semua teruk punya politicking. There are many very important issues out there where we Sabahams should be taking care off like unity and religious tolerance and the PTI . Why are we indulge in this one. Sabahans never change, always go for all the unrelevant stuff and not tackling the real problem.
This is just envy and greed!

  20. I'm a West Malaysian who came to Sabah 25 years ago. When I first came, I saw true spirits of Sabah leaders....fighting for their rights. Well time flies and so are the fighting spirits.

As for politicians of Sabah, search your hearts and souls.....Do you really care?......No, I would say.....You guys are ONLY interested to enrich yourselves.....Shame be on you.

  21. What has Jeffery done for the KDMs during the reign of PBS? Nothing at all except squandering the Yayasan Sabah.
You all Kadazan leaders are bunch of hypocrites and greedy. Just look at the situation of the KDMs today, despite the fact that they are the sons of the soil. The KDMs today have lost their dignity due to you greedy KDMs leaders, All you know is to enrich yourselves and forgot about your people. The real KDMs Huguan Siou was the late Peter Mojuntin, ( May he rest in Peace)
Today the Huguan Siou is the Huguan Guntolou!

politics is politics while religion is religion. u guys just cant mix it up. different ppl have different view on how to tackle sabah's problem.

so to all those who label him as a devil, is an insult to us who attend SIB church. does that mean we're a devil followers too? not all of us supported BN though, we do have a quite number of followers cheering up for PKR and such, but when it comes to religion, we're all the same, there's no personal vendetta against him or her just because of his political views.

  25. Malaysia's Rapid Development Makes People Proud To Be Citizens

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- Ninety-five per cent of the 1,458 respondents in a study stated they were proud to be Malaysian citizens due to the country's rapid development and the infrastructure available.

The respondents said they were also proud to be Malaysians because of the government's strong commitment to developing the country, while it had also ensured stability, narrowed the economic gap and made efforts to check crime.

The study on "Malaysia after 52 years of Independence" was conducted by Prof Datuk Seri Dr Syed Arabi Idid from the Communications, Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences Faculty of the International Islamic University and research fellow Azrul Hisyam Wakichan.

  29. Aiyo! Pastor John, you must be thinking that every other person in this world except yourself, are stupid.

I strongly suspect you must be Herbert in disguise or one of his close associates/proteges. If you are really who you claimed to be preaching God's words, then you should have the decency of identifying your full name & the church that you currently serve. God's servant tells no lies!

To all those who defended Herbert, like Herbert, you too may have a brilliant brain, but i wonder your conscience & soul are still intact.

You should seriously ponder upon the arguments put forward by Ronnie in this posting, and conduct a serious sould searching on what you stand for, if your conscience is still intact.

You fellas should then reach out to Herbert and the rest of the PBS and other BN component parties leaders, to convince them to repent and to leave BN immediately, in order to redeem their past mistake.

Looking at the depressing situation that our beloved country and state are in now, especially with the scores of unresolved issues like the PTIs, constant power failure, high-cost of living but poor standard of living, it would not be an overstatement to say that we are living in a 'dark era' now.

The only way to pull ourselves out from this 'dark era' is to end BN's rule come next general election.

Please put this on top of your "must achieve" or "prayer list" right before health, wealth, career, love etc.

Stop being a devil worshiper or advocate!

    May God bless you all!

    To Messenger of Truth:
Matthew 5: 40 " If anyone wants to sue you takes away your tunic, let him have your coat"
43" You have heard that it was said , You shall love neighbor and hate your enemies, But I say to you love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hates you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.
That you may be sons of your Father in heavan, for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good...
