"Replace MACC With A Truly Independent One"

"We want to establish the truth and nothing but the truth... it is important for us to ensure that public faith and confidence in important institutions."

Such an assertive statement comes from none other than the Prime Minister, Najib Abdul Razak (pic left) on Wednesday while announcing the Cabinet decision to set up a royal commission to look into the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's investigative procedures and to determine if there were any human right violations when the late Teoh Beng Hock was being interrogated.

He also revealed that an inquest will be held to determine Teoh's cause of death.

While such a statement just sounds too good especially coming from someone who till to-date has yet to fully absolve himself of the Altantuya controversy, let’s give him the benefit of doubt that the soon to be set up Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) could really achieve what it is intended for, that is to find out Teoh’s cause of death and not just another whitewash, like what happened to the Lingam Tape controversy and the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) – which now remained as academic, if not another controversy themselves.

Teoh’s untimely and mysterious death has shaken the nation at the same time exposed serious flaws in the investigative procedures of our law enforcement agencies.

Death in custody not only reflects badly on the relevant authorities but also our nation as a whole and this may have a far-reaching impact on our country especially when foreign investors start losing confidence in this country.

I therefore hope the soon to be set up royal commission will compel our law enforcement agencies to review their investigative procedures and to recommend those of international standard, not only to prevent a recurrence but also to safeguard their own reputation.

If Najib Tun Razak and the government is really sincere with his "1Malaysia,People First,Performance Now" motto,he should abolish the MACC and replace it with one appointed by the King and answerable only to Parliament.Presently,MACC is answerable only to the Prime Minister who can always use it against the opposition.

In fact, many countries have audio and visual recordings of all their interviews with the suspects or witness..

It is also worth considering making the pathology department an independent body so as to ensure a more credible investigation and solving of severe crimes involving death, especially those which happened to involved the law enforcement agencies.

I would also like to present to you here a short video clip sent to me by a reader of this blog which exposes the obnoxious treatment of a suspect in custody.

  1. WTF????!!!!
That's brutal and insane and those f****** interrogator should be snipe. I'm pissed while watching at the video..they treat the suspect like a bloody caged animal..My hand is like itching to treat them like they did in the video. Calling themselves an enforcer? HAH! It's ridiculous. I wanna see once this video spread all over the Internet. I want to see if they deny it or admit it.

They shall pay for all their denial and sins.

  2. My 2cents? Those involved in the video can be identify but only without hanky-panky or covering up their arse. Bloody retards. Wonder if they were the one to be beaten up.

  3. OMG! That poor guy. I hope he didn't die from all the beating after the video was taken or did he?

  4. I hope the truth will be brought up to light. RIP Teoh Beng Hock.

I think those interrogators watch too much The Shield on AXN Astro.

  5. Careful of who you beat up. If the victim is an American, you can bet the United States would launch their nuclear bomb at us this very minute.

All of us maybe had different point of view in this scenario but we focused on same thing; we want to know the truth...
So, let the authorities do their job.

  9. Will independency be accorded for a fair investigation by the Royal Commission? An inquest headed by a magistrate, isn't he/she a junior officer of the courts?

OMG..!!That poor young man.I'm traumatized and sick to my stomach just watching the animals at work.Bloody farkxxxxxx bastards.

  11. Who are sitting in the Royal Commission of Inquiry is paramount to a fair and unbiased proceedings. By now the names have been shortlisted and the first sitting is expected sooner as the subject in question is of national interest. As for MACC, it is obvious that their methods of investigations is outdated. Burden by shortage of personnels to handle growing numbers of reported cases, MACC has resorted to rough tactic in the hope of solving other cases in a short period time. A referandum nation wide is the best way to ascertain the people's aspiration to make MACC only responsible to Parliament.

  13. First of all, I have my doubt whether the video is real or the people in it were only actors from the opposition! In view of this, I am reluctant to post my comment at this point and I would invite the BN to say their piece first on this short video clip. PBMA

  14. Damn bloody Police. Looks like NAZIS from Germany. Circulate this Video and catch the culprits. They have no decency, cruel, racist, inhumane treatment of detainees, they will answer yo GOD. How can Police behave like this. Ba.....ds

  15. Let the PM himself watch this video and I would like to hear his comment. It is critically obvious now that the police think they are the strong and mighty. I wont be surprised that they themselves will be strung and beaten up by the public. Those individuals (identifiable) should be brought to justice by letting the family of the victim mete out the punishment and I can assure you that their (interrogators)balls will shrink even to know that. I had a friend who cancelled their family trip to Sabah during the still open Altantuya fiasco knowing the fact that even our police (who are supposed to protect and uphold the law) were killing innocent people.

Open your eyes people and lets make a change!

  16. Is this the same thing happen to TBH at MACC before he died. The IGP should see this video clip by himself including our PM and Nazri for their comments.
Such inhuman thing to be happen in their custody and no wonder suspect dies.

  17. Barbarians!!! Civilization no longer existed is it? How could this behaviour be tolerated? This is inexcuseable!!!

  18. The guys in uniform in the video do not look like Malaysian Policemen. Their uniform looks like St. John's Ambulance Corps. Are you sure these are Malaysian policemen?
Coming back to the question of having an independent MACC. No such thing in Malaysia, do not dream of that as long as these morons are there.
Who was behind the May 13? And who is the present PM.?
This is father and son fiasco.

  19. The current regime have lost all accounts of administrating a country that once stood as an example to both developed and undeveloped countries.
If permitted to continue, all hell will break loose. The racial card used by UMNO will never work again,it work once before but never again.

Typical example is Sabah, the leadership has no direction and only depend on whatever is told and instructed by their political masters.Musa Aman is WORRIED that his position is now highly threaten as contain in his recent speech"the people of Sabah must continue to support BN,only we can bring development and prosperity","The people must vote BN in the next general elections".If these are not signs of desperation than I must be a moron!!

Thank you Sir for highlighting the video clip,it would surely keep us on our toes.

  20. Datuk Shafie Apdal in a press statement in rebutting Datuk Zaid Ibrahim speech at the Bankers Club said,"Struggling for race's rights is not racial,it is our responsibility as Malays to help our community"

My question to Shafie is,Have you abandoned your Bajau community?Since when Malays existed in Sabah?Just because you belong to UMNO and a Federal Minister doesn't make you a Malay. The same applies to all the UMNO morons in Sabah.

    Bajau Warrior.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I agree with Bajau Warrior.....THERE ARE NO MALAYS IN SABAH!!!!! Dont forget ones origin and roots and start calling yourselves Malays just to be like those from Semenanjung. And also DO NOT bring the semenanjung ideals and practices here coz we Sabahans (from any race and religion) can sit in the same coffeeshop even if it is a chinese coffeeshop!! Dont make the mistake of forsaking our harmony for the sake of power and greed!!

  22. Holy cow, unbelievable!! I'm traumatized to see the video clip, and I thought only this happens in uncivilized countries.I've visited Malaysia and Sabah in 2007 and found the people so warm and hospitable.

  23. Don't assume us Sabahan's are like you from Semenanjung. There are hardly any racism cases here, everyone just gets along fine with one another. People here are tolerant with each others race and culture: Indian wore Cheongsam, Chinese wore Baju Kurung and Malay wore sari. No problem here. Malay people eat at Chinese kopi-tiam, Chinese watch football at Indian coffee shop, no problem.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm glad you find Sabah warm and hospitable. We are always ready to welcome foreigners. People of different races and nationality lived in peace with one another...

  25. Those involved are security guards (in white shirts) and undercover CID policemen (in casual clothes). We can hear the a guard telling the beaten man that they are policemen. The beating probably took place at the guard room and not in a police station.

It is truly disgusting for so many to beat up so badly one man who is scared out of his life. There can be no reason for them to beat him up like that.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Big Question mark? who are those people that are beating the poor man. They look more like security guards. Then inforcement personel.Anyway we need to change the government in sabah. The reason are so many until i cannot imagined were to start..

    ReplyDelete
  27. I fully agree with anon that there is no racism in Sabah. It is those KL leaders who are jealous of Sabah's muhibbah, and they are trying to divide the Sabahans to rule. In my family my brother married a Bajau Muslim, another married a Kadazan and my sisters married Chinese, so there is no place for racist feelings. But sorry to say KL people do not like this. It is the KL leaders who are trying their best ti instil racist feeling among the Sabahans.
Go to Papar and some remote town, one will see a Chines, a Kadazan, a Bajau and other local ethnic people sitting in a Chinese coffee shop drinking coffee and chatting happily together. Some even lived together in the same Kampung but of different religious belief.

  28. Encik Ronnie,

Musa Aman has been awarded the Paramount leader of the Orang Sungei and he is grining a big big grin in the pix in the DE. So where is the brain tumor that you were talking about???? You are another big liar like the rest of them. And I see your good buddy Jeffery is asking the Govt to compensate the growers, what bull is he talking about? That is just a cheap publicity stunt just for political milestone.
Tell Jeffery that his political career is over already and just let new untainted leaders to take over. Sabah has enough of crooks and crocodiles in the last 40 years.

  29. musa aman awarded paramount leader of the orang sungei and my grand mother is still a virgin.Anon,I sympathize with lost souls like you.

Your English and maths sucks, you have actually included UMNO alongside with USNO,Berjaya and PBS in your 40 years of crooks and crocodiles. As sure as the sun would rise tomorrow morning, you have also unknowingly awarded musa aman Paramount leader of crooks and crocodiles.Well done.

Where did you get your PHD, did you buy it from Edith Cowan just like Musa Aman and the rest of your kind did. Or maybe your doctorate is from online university. You must have also plagiarised you thesis.
What do you mean by your English and Maths sucks. You must be one of those shithead and balls polisher. I am better qualified than you. You can be a die hard ball carrier of all the discarded arsehole politicians who have plundered Sabah thousand times over and still not satisfied.
Yes I have included UMNO alongside with Usno, Berjaya and PBS in the 40 years, Sabah has enough of crooks and crocodiles until today. You were not even born yet when Usno was in power.
And you must be a product of the Sekolah Menegah because you did not understand what I wrote. I am saying Musa has been awarded the Paramount leader of the orang sungei and still grining away healthy, what lies are you guys spreading about him having brain tumor? I am not a fan of Musa or the whole bunch of you crooks trying to topple each other and squandering Sabah dry.

Still have not made enough during the hey days of PBS with the YS timber shipping?

  35. Actually, as long as the vagina came in contact with the sperm, there is a possibility of getting pregnant without the penetration of a man's erection. So, there is nothing wrong with his grandmother being a virgin.

    ReplyDelete
  36. OMG! O.o
What's with all the science (ie: virginity, vagina and sperm)? I thought we are talking about politics? or is it just a side-story?

Btw, I'm proud to be a Sabahan. Yes, Sabah have enough crocodiles and crooks and thieves and yes, we do sit and talk in one table in a chinese coffee shops with the other ethnics but hey, my English is excellent and my Maths just average. So, what if the rest of their English sucks and so does their maths? Nothing wrong and at least Sabahans can speak proper English as long as they are learning.. Sheesh..

Enough said. Let's get back to the original topic of debate.
    Alright

  37. I applaud the seriousness, total fairness and far sightedness of the webmaster. He has given Sabahans to have their say, something never before seen.
It proves beyond doubt that we have now matured and we cannot be under-minded by one sided politics, this has been going on the last 46 years where politicians words were regarded as gospel truth.

    Orang Utan Sandakan.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The webmaster is lucky that Musa Aman and his gang in Sabah are tolerant or just too busy trying to make as much as possible, as the saying goes "make hay while the sun shines" otherwise they will go all out after Ronnie Klassen with ISA, Treason charge, the new cyber law or whatever shit they can use to get rid of dissent.
Anyway I take off my hat to him for having the guts, but please be remimnded that be ready to flee or go into Kamunting. The PM is too busy at this moment trying to pacify the Semenanjung rakyat.
Sabahans despite what Orang Utan Sandakan said that Sabahans are matured, I think "Ikan masin, tangki air and janji terang bulan" still works in many constituencies. And please do not forget that the BN owned EC is already talking about another dealination of polling boundaries, in order for BN to win in the next poll. So do not be too sure. Besides here we are just writing in the internet, how many people have internet access in the kampungs. Those folks will believe when some sweet talking YBs come along and declare open some padi planting scheme or opening some Balai Rayas, handing out bantuan kerajaan, name it I have seen all these in the last 40 years. Please also do not forget who is sitting at the top in the National Registration Dept in Sabah. He is an Umno man! Mykads can easily be churned out and given to PTIs and registered as voters like what has been going on.
KL leaders irrespective they are BN or PKR are interested in winning elections and they will promise everything under the sun to get their votes, but once they win Sabah will just be the same old Sabah with all the PTIs running around. Then when Sabahans make noise, the KL controlled PDRM will conduct an operation or two to flush out illegals ( that 's what the media will say) Just an eyewash, Catch them, make a hell of a big news in the local papers, put them in the detention centers. Then a few months later you will see in the papers that those detained have escaped while waiting to be deported. "Biasa lah"
The " kepala agong" is the truth in Sabah !

In KL, if a chinese went to Malay restaurant and eat, they will be like staring at you with the eyes sayin Why are you here?! If its in KK, different races eat together. Dr Airil, words that you said in your comment are just rubbish. Your grandmother is a virgin? Tsk tsk tsk. No words to describe you, lost soul.

  102. It seems to be rumours spreading in the net that the video clip above is the TBH incident itself. Some netizens belived so due to the blurry quality of the video.

The very same clip is available in youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwELQEN9CmQ
(uploaded on 4-Jun, well before TBH case).

Can the author please explicitly state that the clip has no relation to the TBH case?

Just to solve the confusion. Thanks a lot!

  165. Malaysia is not just about to collapse, but it's in the progress, steadfastly, parallel to the way of other 3rd world country is advancing......What a disgrace....The ever increasing number of uncovered truth cases has already been questioning the law and judiciary system in this country where I'm born and guess what, the system really thought that all Malaysian are idiotic enough to believe what is published on the paper and said by the 'big' figure out there?TBH, a real poor guy, wondering out there who had sacrificed like him ever able to bring out the naked truth of justice in Malaysia.......

Btw, even I'm not a Sabahan, I'd been to Sabah many times and I really like the harmony in Sabah, no racism, nothing. Even the taxi drivers there told us they have been so harmony all the while till the politician destroy it slowly just to unite the 'one Sabah' with west Malaysia which has been torn to pieces long time ago. Sabahan are not worried about the multi-etnicity in Sabah, in fact illegal immigrants are their only headache. But west Malaysian is otherwise. I'm living in KL and the racism is very saddening. Outside world has always feel that Malaysia is a warm multi-cultural and racial country, because they visited Sabah and thought Sabah represents Malaysia. Too bad.....Sabah is only a state to be a leading example for the whole Malaysia...
